Pine Hill Farms, DE is a small family farm, now run by Carolyn Palo and Kathy Goldstone, and located in Newark, Delaware. We raise Emus, grow Shiitake Mushrooms, bale hay and produce vegetables.
Pine Hill Farms was established in the 1930's as a chicken farm by Fannie and John Pollari, Carolyn's Grandparents. Since the mid 1990's, the farm has evolved into raising emus, growing Shiitake Mushrooms and baling hay with the encouragement of Viola Palo, Carolyn's Mom. We also maintain two gardens, mostly for our own consumption. Pumpkins, are also grown, to be sold in the fall along with bales of hay and corn stalks for decoration.
Carolyn is the president of the Maryland Emu Association and served as the Director of Regions 1 and 2 of the American Emu Association in 2016 and 2017.
